Who we are

BEACON is a product of Urbanomics Consulting Group ("we", "us"). We provide governance intelligence tools and research to boards of directors and their executive teams.

Information we collect

• Account information you provide when you register — name, work email, organization, and role.
• Assessment responses you submit as a participant in a BEACON board assessment cycle.
• Communications you send to us (email, demo requests, support enquiries).
• Technical data collected automatically when you use the site — IP address, browser, device, and pages viewed — for security, performance, and aggregated analytics.

How we use information

• To operate the BEACON platform and deliver assessment reports to authorized users.
• To communicate with you about your account, cycles you are part of, and platform updates.
• To improve BEACON, our research, and the security of the service.
• To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use participant assessment responses to train third-party AI models.

Who can see your responses

Individual assessment responses are visible to the participant who submitted them. Aggregated, de-identified board results are visible to the administrators authorized by the board for a given assessment cycle. We do not share individual responses outside of this scope without your explicit consent, except where required by law.

Subprocessors and hosting

BEACON is hosted on cloud infrastructure provided by our platform partners. We use a small set of subprocessors for hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, and analytics. A current list is available on request.

Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Assessment data is retained for the duration of the engagement plus a reasonable period thereafter for longitudinal comparison, unless a client requests earlier deletion.

Your choices

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@beacon-boardshq.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law, including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect information in transit and at rest, including encrypted connections, role-based access, and row-level authorization inside the platform. No system is perfectly secure; we work to reduce risk continuously.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, communicated to account holders.
